Guide to Memorial Day Weekend
Memorial Day is an action-packed weekend here in Jackson Hole. Kicking off the weekend on May 24th is the start of Old West Days.
At 9 am on Thursday the Mountain Man Rendezvous and trade show begins. This unique trade show offers a look into the past with authentic with wild west items for sale at the trader row with items from jewelry to buffalo rugs.There is also a candy cannon, bow and arrow competition, atlatal competition, and a hawk and knife competition which ends at 5:00, just in time for a dinner on the town. This event runs everyday from 9- 5:30 during the Old West Days so if you can't make Thursday there are 3 more days to attend. That night come down to the infamous Million Dollar Cowboy Bar on the town square and share a drink with the town Chamber of Commerce as they unveil the newly revamped Million Dollar Cowboy Bar sign.
Day 2 of the Mountain Man Rendezvous and trade show starts at 9 with the same fun activities as the day before. Then at 10:30 in Town Square there is a free historical walking tour of Jackson. Come learn our towns unique history and see it with your own eyes as you meander the streets and walk ways of our historic town. At 7 pm join us for dinner at the nationally acclaimed Bar-J chuckwagon for the official Old West Days kick off! Come enjoy an authentic old west chuckwagon meal with the best entertainment in town!
The last day of the Mountain Man Rendezvous and Trade Show starts at 9 am. Then at 10 am join us for the 37th annual Memorial Day parade through the town. One of the last and best horse-drawn parades of the Old West! Enjoy Mountain Men, vintage vehicles, covered wagons, and the legendary gathering of gunslingers of the West! After that head on over to the Jackson Hole historical society and Museum to not only see but experience the history of this valley and town. From 10 am to 6 pm there is two for one entry at both museum locations.
